Little Bunny was sitting on her soft blanket, looking adorably pouty. For days, she’d been sucking her tiny fingers whenever she felt sleepy or bored — it was her favorite way to feel calm. But Daddy had decided it was time to stop. So that morning, he gently slipped tiny gloves over her hands to keep her from doing it again.
At first, Bunny didn’t notice. She played with her tail, yawned, and reached up to suck her thumb — but then she froze. Her little mouth met soft fabric instead of her finger! Confused, she blinked and tried again. Still nothing.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. “Eee?” she squeaked, tugging at the gloves with both hands, but they wouldn’t come off. Within seconds, her frustration began to bubble over.
“Eee! Eeee! EEEE!” she cried loudly, stamping her feet and waving her hands in protest. Daddy tried to soothe her, speaking gently, “It’s okay, Bunny. Just for a little while.” But she wasn’t listening — she was furious.
Bunny rolled on her back, wiggling her gloved fingers in the air as if demanding an explanation. Then she looked up at Daddy with the most dramatic expression imaginable — a mix of betrayal and disbelief.
Finally, seeing her frustration, Daddy knelt beside her and stroked her cheek. “Alright, my little fighter,” he sighed, “you can have them off for now.” He carefully removed the gloves, and Bunny instantly brought her finger to her mouth, sighing with relief as if the world was right again.
Her eyes softened, her cries stopped, and peace filled the room once more.
Daddy chuckled quietly. “You win this time,” he whispered, watching her drift into calm contentment.
And Bunny? She smiled in her sleep — finger safe, heart happy.
