It was a sunny afternoon, and Daddy thought it was the perfect time for little Bunny to practice walking on her own. The soft grass was warm beneath her tiny feet, and the breeze carried the scent of flowers. But to Bunny, the world suddenly felt too big.
Daddy gently set her down and smiled. “Come on, sweetheart. You can do it! Just a few steps.”
But the moment her toes touched the ground, Bunny froze. Her little hands reached up desperately, and she let out a trembling squeak. “Eee! Eee!” Her big, round eyes filled with fear as her tiny body shook. She didn’t want to walk — not without feeling safe.
“Come on, my brave girl,” Daddy encouraged, staying just a few steps away. But Bunny whimpered louder, her voice turning into soft sobs. Her tail tucked close, and her lips trembled. “Eee! Eeee!” she cried again, stretching her arms upward, begging him to pick her up.
Daddy sighed softly, his heart melting at the sight. He had wanted her to learn independence, but seeing her so frightened was too much.
He knelt down and opened his arms. “Alright, baby. Come here.”
Bunny immediately rushed forward on shaky legs, collapsing into his embrace. The moment his hands wrapped around her, her tears stopped. She buried her tiny face into his chest, clinging tightly as if she never wanted to let go.
Daddy chuckled, rubbing her back. “It’s okay, my little Bunny. We’ll try again another day.”
Within minutes, her sobs faded into soft hiccups, and she sighed in relief. Her tiny fingers clutched his shirt, her eyes fluttering closed.
For Bunny, walking could wait — but Daddy’s arms? That was home.
