Poly’s Bath-Time Protest

Little Poly was usually the happiest baby monkey in the family — cheerful, clingy, and always full of playful squeaks. But when it came to bath time, things often got… dramatic.

That morning, her dad was preparing warm water in a small tub, humming softly while Poly clung to his arm like a little koala. She loved being held, feeling safe against his chest. But the moment he gently placed her on the ground to finish getting the water ready, everything changed.

Poly’s eyes went wide. Her tiny lips puckered into a pout, and then — the tantrum began! She stomped her little feet, waving her arms, and let out a series of loud, angry squeaks. “Eee! Eee! EEEE!” Her face wrinkled in frustration as if she were saying, “How dare you put me down, Daddy? I don’t want to wait!”

Her dad turned around, smiling patiently. “Just one minute, Poly,” he said softly, though she didn’t understand. The baby monkey’s cries grew louder, echoing through the room. She crossed her arms, turned her head away, and sat dramatically on the floor, refusing to look at him.

But the moment he dipped his hand into the water and called, “Alright, bath time!”, her mood changed completely. She perked up instantly, her anger forgotten. She jumped up, letting out an excited chirp, and reached for him to lift her back up.

As soon as she touched the warm water, Poly relaxed with a soft sigh, splashing playfully while her dad washed her tiny arms.

Her earlier tantrum melted away in bubbly laughter and joy.

That day, Poly’s dad couldn’t help but chuckle — his little girl might be moody, but her angry squeaks always ended in smiles and giggles.
