The morning started out calm, but soon the yard echoed with the heartbreaking cries of a tiny baby monkey. He had woken up from his nap, blinking his sleepy eyes, expecting to see his dad nearby. But when he looked around, his little heart dropped—dad wasn’t there.
Confused, he scrambled to his feet and began pacing across the yard, calling out in desperate cries. His voice was high-pitched and filled with panic, each sound carrying the fear of being alone. He clung to the fence for a moment, then hurried to the corner where dad usually sat, only to find it empty. That emptiness made him cry even louder, his little body shaking with each sob.
He searched under the table, behind the chair, and even looked toward the gate, hoping dad would appear. His small hands trembled as he clutched at the ground, his tail twitching nervously. It was as if the whole world had turned scary the moment dad wasn’t by his side.
Finally, after what felt like forever to the frightened baby, dad returned carrying some food. The moment the little monkey saw him, his panicked cries turned into a flood of relief. He rushed forward, almost tripping over his own tiny feet, and leapt straight into dad’s arms.
Dad held him close, stroking his back gently, while the baby buried his face into dad’s chest, still whimpering softly as if to say, “Don’t leave me again.”
The yard, once filled with the sound of panic, was now calm again. The baby clung tightly, refusing to let go, showing just how deep his love and need for dad truly was.
