The morning started with Luna sitting high on the wooden table, her little hands tapping restlessly as she waited for Mom to finish preparing her breakfast. At first, she was calm, but soon her patience wore thin. She began to whine, the sound growing louder and sharper until it turned into full-on crying.
Mom, still in the kitchen, called out gently, “Just a minute, Luna!” But Luna wasn’t having it. Her cries echoed through the room, her little face scrunched in frustration. She shifted her body, scooting toward the edge of the table without realizing how dangerous it was.
In the middle of her loud sobs, she lost her balance. In one quick, heart-stopping moment, Luna tipped forward and tumbled off the table.
“Luna!” Mom shouted, rushing over with her heart pounding. The sound of the fall was terrifying, but when she reached her, she was amazed to see Luna already sitting up, blinking in surprise.
The crying stopped for a second as Luna looked at Mom, then it resumed—but now it was more from the shock than pain. Mom quickly scooped her up, checking her head, arms, and legs for any signs of injury.
Thankfully, there were no cuts or bruises. Luna was shaken but unharmed. Mom held her close, rocking her gently and whispering, “You’re okay, my brave girl… but no more climbing on high tables.”
Luna clung tightly to Mom’s shirt, her sobs slowly turning into sniffles. Though the scare had passed, Mom knew it was a reminder of just how quickly accidents could happen—and how lucky they were that this one ended with nothing more than a frightened little monkey who needed extra cuddles.
