Alan Cries as Dad Ignores Him

It was a warm, busy morning in the little monkey family’s home under the tall trees. Baby monkey Alan was full of energy, bouncing around and hoping for one thing—his father’s attention. But today, Papa monkey was deep in focus, trying to build a new wooden perch for the family to rest on. His back was turned, and his hands were busy. He didn’t notice Alan tugging gently on his tail.

Alan tried everything. He squeaked, waved his tiny arms, and even jumped in front of Papa’s feet. But Papa was too focused. He didn’t even look down.

Feeling frustrated and hurt, Alan’s little face scrunched into a frown. A moment later, a loud, dramatic cry filled the air. Alan sat on the ground, tears in his eyes, letting out one of his strongest tantrums yet. He didn’t understand why Papa didn’t stop for him. All he wanted was to be held.

Nearby, Mama monkey heard the cries and quickly came to comfort him. She picked him up and whispered gently, hugging him close. Papa monkey finally turned around, tools in hand, surprised to see Alan in tears. His eyes softened as he realized what had happened.

Setting everything aside, he walked over and gently took Alan from Mama’s arms. With a soft cuddle and a kiss on the forehead, he whispered apologies. Alan stopped crying, clung tightly to Papa, and snuggled his head into his chest.

Even the busiest parents sometimes forget that little ones don’t need much—just love, attention, and a little moment together.

That day, the perch could wait. What mattered most was right in Papa’s arms—a tiny monkey with a big heart who simply missed his dad.
