Luna’s Table Tantrum

Comments Off on Luna’s Table Tantrum

Little Luna was usually a sweet baby monkey, full of giggles and playful mischief. But today… oh, today was different.

Dad had placed her on the table for her usual midday treat — a slice of banana with a dab of honey. Normally, this was her favorite moment. But Luna wasn’t feeling so patient.

She saw the banana sitting there. She saw Dad slowly peeling it with that calm look on his face. Too slow.

“EEEHHH!!” she squealed, stomping her tiny feet on the table.

Dad paused, surprised.

He tried to offer the banana, but Luna wanted to do it herself. She slapped it out of his hand, then shrieked again when it hit the table instead of her mouth.

Her eyes flared with frustration. She waved her arms in the air like windmills and let out an explosive tantrum. “EEEHHHH EHHH!!” Her little hands smacked the table. She threw her soft cloth toy to the floor like it had betrayed her.

Dad raised his eyebrows but stayed calm. He waited while Luna huffed and puffed, face scrunched up like a thundercloud.

Finally, when her energy wore out, she collapsed in a heap of baby monkey drama. Whimpers replaced the screeches. Her bottom lip stuck out pitifully.

Dad quietly picked up the banana, now a little messy, and gently placed it in her lap. Luna blinked, looked up, then slowly picked it up.

She took a bite.

Suddenly, the storm faded.

One bite turned into two, then a smile peeked out from her pout. Dad sat beside her, rubbing her back gently.
