It was just an ordinary morning in the grassy yard when young mama Lora suddenly froze. Her sharp eyes spotted something slithering through the grass—a massive worm, thick, wiggling, and much too close for comfort.
Beside her, baby Luna was napping peacefully, her tiny belly rising and falling with soft, calm breaths. But Lora’s instincts kicked in instantly. With no time to lose, she scooped up her newborn and clutched her tight to her chest.
In a flash, Lora dashed across the yard—leaping over roots, dodging rocks, and never once loosening her grip. Luna stirred slightly from the rush, but her mama’s warmth kept her calm. Lora looked back once, just to be sure the strange creature wasn’t following.
Caretakers watching the scene couldn’t help but smile at her protective reflex. The “giant worm” was just a harmless, oversized earthworm wiggling its way to shade. But to Lora, it was a threat—and she wasn’t taking any chances with her precious little one.
Once safe on the higher platform, Lora sat down and held Luna close, licking her head gently and checking every little part of her. Luna yawned and stretched, completely unaware of her mama’s heroic moment.
