Little Linda sat on the floor, her tiny hands curled into fists. Mom had gone out, and now, the house felt too quiet… too empty.
At first, she waited patiently. She curled up, hugging her little blanket. But as time passed—her heart started aching.
Where was Mom?
Her tiny lips quivered. Her big eyes filled with tears.
Then—
“WAAAAH!!”
Linda threw herself on the floor, kicking and crying.
The other baby monkeys watched in shock.
“Linda, calm down!” Jueur said.
But Linda wouldn’t stop. She cried sharply, rolling on the ground.
Mom had been gone too long. Would she ever come back?!
Then—footsteps.
Linda froze. She lifted her head, ears twitching.
The door opened.
MOM!!
Linda squealed, scrambling up. She ran as fast as her tiny legs could go and jumped into Mom’s arms!
Mom gasped. “Oh, Linda! Were you crying?”
Linda sniffled, pressing her face into Mom’s chest. She wasn’t letting go!
Mom rubbed her back gently. “I’ll always come back, my little baby.”
Linda hiccupped, still clinging tight. Her world was finally safe again.
