Poor Lina’s Cry for Attention

In the cozy corner of the family room, baby monkey Lina sprawled out on the floor, her tiny hands flailing as she let out a loud, dramatic scream. Her little face scrunched up in frustration, and tears welled in her big eyes.

It all started when Mom had been too busy tidying up to pick her up and cuddle her as she always did. Lina, who adored being the center of attention, couldn’t handle the sudden lack of affection. Her piercing cries echoed through the room as she rolled from side to side, making sure her mom noticed her distress.

Mom glanced over, shaking her head with a mix of amusement and concern. “Lina, you’re such a little drama queen!” she said with a soft laugh.

But Lina wasn’t giving up so easily. She turned up the volume, her little fists pounding the floor for emphasis. Her siblings peeked around the corner, giggling at Lina’s over-the-top performance.

Finally, Mom walked over and scooped her up, cradling the pouty little monkey in her arms. “Okay, okay, Lina,” Mom said soothingly, “I’m here now. No need to act like the world’s ending.”

Instantly, Lina’s cries turned to soft sniffles, and she nuzzled into her mom’s chest, comforted by the warmth and familiarity. It wasn’t long before her tail started twitching with contentment, her earlier tantrum all but forgotten.

For Lina, nothing was more important than knowing she had her mom’s love and attention—even if it sometimes took a dramatic scene to remind everyone.
