Little Mario, full of energy and affection, had one of his sadder days today. It all started when Mom, in a rush to clean up and prepare meals, gently placed Mario on the table for just a moment. But for Mario, that moment felt like forever.
He sat there quietly at first, his big round eyes following Mom’s every move, hoping she would come back quickly to hold him. As minutes ticked by and Mom remained busy with chores, Mario’s happy spirit started to fade. His tiny shoulders drooped, and his little hands played nervously with the edge of the table.
Mario didn’t understand why Mom wasn’t coming to scoop him up or talk sweetly to him like she usually did. Feeling forgotten, he let out a soft, whimpering sound, trying to get her attention. His bottom lip trembled, and he gave a little kick of frustration, but Mom, still busy, didn’t notice right away.
The table suddenly felt too cold and too lonely. Mario curled up slightly, resting his head on his tiny arms, gazing longingly toward Mom with teary eyes. It was such a heartbreaking sight — a baby who only wanted a little love and attention from his favorite person.
Finally, Mom turned around and saw Mario’s sad little face. In an instant, she dropped everything she was doing and rushed to pick him up. Mario clung tightly to her, his tiny heart pounding fast with relief.
Mom kissed his forehead again and again, whispering sweet apologies. Mario’s face brightened just a little, feeling the warmth and safety he had missed.
Sometimes, even the busiest moments can break a little heart, but a mom’s hug can fix it all in a second.
