The afternoon had been peaceful until tiny baby monkey Kaka suddenly heard barking from nearby. He had been sitting quietly on a secure table, looking around the room with his curious little eyes. But the moment he heard the dogs, his entire expression changed.

Kaka froze.

His tiny body became tense, and he quickly looked toward the sound. Another bark came from outside, louder this time. Kaka’s eyes widened with fear.

“Eeeeh! Eeeeh!”

He began crying loudly.

Kaka pressed himself toward the middle of the table, looking desperately for somewhere to hide. His little hands gripped the surface while he stared toward the direction of the dogs. Every time another bark echoed through the room, he cried again.

Mommy immediately noticed his fear.

“Oh, poor Kaka. You’re scared, aren’t you?” she said softly.

Kaka looked at Mommy and stretched both arms toward her. His crying became even more emotional, as though he was begging her to come closer. He didn’t understand that the dogs were separated from him. All he knew was that the strange, loud sounds frightened him.

Mommy quickly moved closer and made sure Kaka was in a completely secure place away from the dogs. She stayed beside him rather than allowing him to remain near the edge of the table, because a frightened baby monkey could suddenly jump or fall while trying to escape.

“It’s okay, little one. Mommy is here,” she whispered.

Kaka continued crying, but Mommy gently picked him up and held him close once he was safely away from the table. He immediately wrapped his tiny arms around her and pressed his face against her chest.

Another bark sounded in the distance.

Kaka startled and grabbed Mommy’s shirt.

Mommy gently stroked his back. “You’re safe. The dogs aren’t coming near you.”

She kept her voice calm and reassuring. Instead of forcing Kaka to face the sounds, she gave him time to settle. Slowly, his frightened cries became quieter.

“Eee… eee…”

Mommy continued holding him.

Kaka lifted his head and looked toward the doorway again. His eyes were still cautious, but he no longer looked as panicked as before. He seemed to be checking whether Mommy was still there.

She smiled at him.

“See? Mommy has you.”

Kaka slowly rested his head against her shoulder.

After a few minutes, the barking became more distant. Kaka’s tiny hands finally loosened their grip, and his breathing appeared calmer. Mommy continued keeping him safely away from the dogs and made sure his surroundings remained quiet and secure.

The brave little monkey had been terrified only moments earlier. Now he was tucked safely against Mommy, listening to her gentle voice.

“You don’t have to be brave all by yourself,” Mommy whispered. “When you’re scared, you can come to Mommy.”

Kaka answered with one tiny squeak before closing his eyes.

His scary moment on the table was finally over. What he needed most wasn’t punishment or pressure—it was a safe environment, careful supervision, and the comforting presence of someone he trusted.

And in Mommy’s arms, tiny Kaka finally felt safe again.
