The morning was peaceful as little A Tong stood on the soft mat, looking toward Mom with his bright, curious eyes.
Mom crouched a short distance away and gently encouraged him.
“Come on, A Tong. Take one little step.”
A Tong looked at her.
He lifted one tiny foot.
Step.
Then another.
Step.
His little arms stretched out for balance as he carefully moved forward.
Mom smiled proudly.
“Good boy! One more.”
A Tong took another tiny step, wobbling slightly before finding his balance again.
Dad watched nearby and quietly cheered.
“Look at him go!”
But suddenly, A Tong stopped.
He looked at Mom.
She was still waiting with open arms.
For a moment, he seemed to think about it.
Then he turned around.
His little feet moved faster.
Step, step, step!
A Tong rushed straight back toward Mom.
Mom laughed and opened her arms.
“Come here, sweetheart!”
A Tong reached her and immediately leaned into her embrace.
Mom gently picked him up and cuddled him close.
His little face rested against her shoulder as if he had just completed the biggest adventure of his life.
Dad smiled.
“He was brave enough to walk away, but he couldn’t stay away from Mommy for long.”
Mom kissed A Tong’s forehead.
“You came all the way back!”
A Tong gave a happy little squeak.
After a moment, Mom placed him safely back on the mat.
“Ready to try again?”
A Tong looked at her.
He took one step.
Then another.
But this time, he didn’t rush away.
He slowly walked toward Mom, becoming more confident with every tiny movement.
Mom encouraged him with a warm smile.
“That’s it. You’re doing so well.”
When he finally reached her, she gently held his hands.
A Tong looked incredibly proud.
His tiny adventure had only lasted a few moments, but it was a huge achievement for him.
Mom gave him a warm cuddle.
“Every little step counts, my precious boy.”
A Tong rested happily against her chest.
He had discovered something important that morning.
He could take tiny steps on his own.
But whenever he needed comfort, reassurance, or a safe place to return, Mom’s loving arms were always waiting for him.
