Little Linda was taken outside by Mommy to play near a big tree. Usually, climbing and exploring trees can be fun for baby monkeys, but today Linda was not happy at all.
Mommy gently placed her near the tree and encouraged her to climb and play.
But Linda didn’t want to.
The moment she realized Mommy wanted her to stay there, Linda’s face quickly changed. Her lips trembled, and her eyes filled with tears.
Then suddenly—
“Eeeee! Eeeee!”
Linda burst into a loud crying tantrum.
She held tightly onto the tree but shook her head again and again. Instead of climbing, she just stayed in one place crying loudly. Her tiny feet stomped while she looked toward Mommy with a very upset face.
It was clear she didn’t like being there.
Linda cried harder, almost like her heart was broken. Her small hands clung to the tree trunk while she called for Mommy again and again.
“Eeeeeee!”
She wanted to be picked up instead of playing on the tree.
Mommy watched her dramatic reaction and gently walked closer. Seeing Mommy come back made Linda cry even louder, reaching her little arms forward.
Finally, Mommy lifted her up.
The moment Linda was in Mommy’s arms, the loud tantrum slowly faded. Her crying turned into soft sniffles as she rested her head against Mommy’s shoulder.
Sometimes little Linda just wants comfort more than adventure.
And on this day, being close to Mommy felt much better than playing on the tree.
