Ronaldo Cries, Afraid Mom Won’t Take Him

Morning light filled the room as little Ronaldo woke up full of energy. Usually, this was the time Mom would take him outside to explore the fresh air. Ronaldo loved going out. The trees, the sounds, and the warm sunshine always made him happy.

But today felt different.

Ronaldo sat on the table watching Mom move around the room. She was busy preparing things and didn’t seem ready to go outside yet. The tiny monkey tilted his head in confusion, trying to understand what was happening.

He waited quietly for a moment.

Then Ronaldo made a small worried sound. His round eyes looked at the door and then back at Mom again. Normally, she would already be picking him up by now.

Slowly, his face changed.

Ronaldo’s lips trembled, and soft cries began to escape from his mouth. He didn’t understand why Mom wasn’t taking him outside today. The confusion made his little heart nervous.

“Ee… ee… ee…” he cried louder, reaching his tiny hands toward Mom.

When she still didn’t come right away, Ronaldo became even more emotional. His cries grew louder, and he stomped his little feet on the table. He looked at the door again, as if hoping it would open magically.

Mom finally noticed his worried face.

She walked over and gently lifted Ronaldo into her arms. Instantly, he wrapped his tiny arms around her neck, still sniffing and crying softly. Mom smiled and stroked his head, whispering softly to calm him.

Soon, Ronaldo’s crying slowed.

Even if they weren’t going outside yet, being in Mom’s arms made him feel safe again. His worried eyes slowly relaxed as he rested against her chest.

Sometimes, all Ronaldo really needs is reassurance that Mom hasn’t forgotten about him.
