Jasmine’s Whimpers for Mommy’s Comfort

Baby Jasmine was usually a bright, bubbly girl, full of tiny squeaks and eager wiggles. But today, something felt different the moment she woke up. Her little face looked dull, her eyes soft and cloudy, as if the world suddenly felt too big for her tiny heart. She sat on the mat with her shoulders slumped, her tail curled tight around her legs — a clear sign she wasn’t feeling okay.

She looked around slowly, searching with hopeful eyes, but Mommy wasn’t nearby. That was all it took for Jasmine’s lips to tremble. A tiny whimper escaped her, soft and fragile, like the beginning of a storm she couldn’t hold back. She pressed her small hands together, staring down at them as if she didn’t know what to do next.

Normally she would climb, explore, nibble on fruit — anything to keep herself entertained. But not today. Today, Jasmine just wanted one thing: Mommy’s warm chest, Mommy’s gentle hands stroking her back, Mommy’s soft voice humming her little worries away. Without that comfort, even her favorite toys felt useless.

Jasmine took a few shaky steps toward the door, stopping every few inches to glance around again. With every moment Mommy didn’t appear, her sadness grew heavier. Soon her tiny body shook with quiet sobs. She curled into a little ball, hugging her knees, her breath hiccupping as she tried to hold back more tears.

Then — footsteps.

Jasmine’s head shot up. Her eyes widened as Mommy walked in, carrying warm milk and wearing a smile filled with love. Jasmine didn’t wait a single second. She stumbled forward, climbed into Mommy’s arms, and buried her face deep into her chest.

Mommy rocked her gently, whispering comfort. And in that warm embrace, Jasmine finally relaxed. Her sadness melted away, replaced by the peace only a mother’s love can give.
