Selena was normally a gentle little baby monkey who loved curling into mommy’s arms, but today the world felt too unfair for her tiny heart to handle. It started with something small — mommy told her “no” when she tried to climb onto the table. For most babies, it might have been a small disappointment, but for Selena, the feeling exploded inside her like a spark hitting dry leaves.
Her face tightened, her brows scrunched deeply, and her little mouth opened wide as the first wail escaped her chest. Then she threw herself onto the floor dramatically, as if the entire world needed to witness her heartbreak. Her hands slapped the ground, her legs kicked wildly, and her tail thrashed in frustration. Anyone watching might have thought she had the biggest problem in the whole world, but to Selena, she truly did.
Mommy stood nearby, calm but worried, watching her little girl unravel into a storm of emotion. “Selena… sweetheart, it’s okay,” she whispered softly, taking a small step toward her. But Selena wasn’t ready to listen. She screamed louder, rolling onto her back and kicking her tiny feet as if she could push the whole problem away.
Tears streaked down her furry cheeks, dripping onto the floor as she cried from the deepest part of her little heart. Her breath trembled, her chest rising and falling too quickly as she looked at mommy with eyes full of hurt — as if she couldn’t understand why the world wouldn’t bend for her.
Mommy finally sat down beside her, not forcing a hug, just offering warmth and patience. Slowly, Selena crawled toward her, her cries turning into sniffles, her anger melting into exhaustion. Mommy wrapped her arms around her, rocking her gently.
And just like that, the storm passed — replaced by the soft comfort of being held, understood, and loved.
