Luka Cries for Mommy and His Milk

Comments Off on Luka Cries for Mommy and His Milk

Baby Luka had just woken up from his short afternoon nap, and the first thing he felt was hunger—deep, uncomfortable hunger that made his tiny stomach twist. He blinked his sleepy eyes, looked around, and realized Mommy Luna wasn’t beside him. The room felt too quiet, too empty, and Luka’s heart began to race.

He sat up slowly on the blanket and called out with a tiny squeak, expecting Mommy to answer right away. But there was no reply. Luna was still in the kitchen preparing his bottle. Luka didn’t understand the delay—he only knew his tummy hurt and he needed milk now.

Suddenly, his small face scrunched up, and a loud cry burst out.
“Mommy! Come quick!” his voice seemed to say.

He called out again and again, screaming with all his little strength. His arms stretched toward the doorway, feet kicking, tail flicking with impatience. Tears formed in his eyes, making his tiny cheeks shine under the light. Luka wasn’t being dramatic—he truly believed Mommy had forgotten him, and that made his loneliness even harder to bear.

He crawled forward a few steps, crying louder as he went, hoping his voice would reach Luna faster if he moved closer. Every second felt longer than the last. He paused, looked around the room, and let out another heartbroken wail.

Finally, Luna heard him and rushed in, holding a warm milk bottle in her hand. As soon as Luka saw her, his entire little body froze—then he burst into relieved sobs.

Luna knelt down, hugged him tightly, and whispered to calm his trembling. Luka grabbed her arm desperately, burying his face against her as she lifted him up.

The moment the bottle touched his lips, Luka relaxed completely. His cries faded, his eyes softened, and he finally felt safe again. Mommy was here. His world was right.
