Poor Linda Cries Sharply Waiting for Mom’s Return

The afternoon sky dimmed softly over the quiet house, where little baby monkey Linda sat on the cool tile floor, her tiny body trembling from sadness. The house felt empty, too silent for her liking. Her mom had gone out earlier, and since then, every minute felt like an eternity. Linda sat near the door, glancing up at every sound — the rustle of leaves, a passing bird — hoping it was Mom coming home. But no one came.

Her little lips began to quiver, and soon, a sharp, heartbreaking cry escaped her. “Eee! Eee!” Her voice grew louder and louder, echoing through the room as tears filled her big eyes. She looked around helplessly, searching for comfort, but the house only gave her shadows and silence. The loneliness made her chest tighten. She missed the warmth of her mom’s hands, the gentle strokes that always soothed her when she was scared.

Unable to hold her feelings in, Linda fell forward slightly, pressing her tiny palms against the floor. She screamed again — louder this time, her voice full of longing and frustration. The more she cried, the more her little body shook, her tail curling close around her legs as if trying to hug herself.

A few moments later, the door creaked — a familiar sound that made her stop mid-cry. Her head lifted instantly, and her teary eyes widened. Then came the soft footsteps she knew so well. “Linda, baby! Mommy’s home!”

The moment she heard her mom’s voice, Linda burst into a new cry — not of sadness, but pure relief. She rushed forward clumsily, almost slipping, and clung tightly to her mom’s arm, burying her face in her chest. Her cries turned into small sobs as her mom stroked her back gently, whispering, “I’m sorry, baby, Mommy’s here now.”

Linda calmed slowly, still hiccuping softly, her tiny heart beating fast against her mom’s warmth. The fear of being alone melted away in that tender embrace. Soon, she nestled into her mother’s lap, sucking her thumb quietly, her eyes finally closing.

The house, once echoing with cries, now filled with peace — a baby’s comfort found again in love’s safe return.
