It was a peaceful morning in the small yard, but baby monkey A Tong wasn’t feeling peaceful at all. His mom had just finished cleaning him after a messy morning, and now it was time for his favorite moment — the sweet, comforting treat he always got afterward. But today, things didn’t go as he expected.
Mom was busy. She left A Tong sitting on a soft towel to prepare his milk and fruit. The baby watched her disappear around the corner, his little hands fidgeting, his tail twitching impatiently. At first, he waited quietly, staring at the doorway. But as seconds stretched into minutes, his face began to wrinkle with frustration.
“Eeeh! Eeeeh!” he cried, shaking his tiny arms in protest. His big round eyes filled with tears as he called for her. His stomach grumbled — not just from hunger, but from the feeling of being forgotten. He crawled in small circles, letting out sharp, impatient squeaks.
When Mom didn’t come right away, A Tong’s cries grew louder and more dramatic. He kicked his legs, stamped his tiny feet on the towel, and pouted his lips in a full tantrum. The sound of his little voice echoed through the house — a mixture of sadness, anger, and pure baby stubbornness.
Finally, Mom appeared, carrying a bowl of fruit and a warm bottle of milk. But by then, A Tong’s tears were streaming down his face. His chest rose and fell quickly as he let out one last furious cry, turning his head away in protest.
“Oh, A Tong…” Mom sighed softly, kneeling beside him. “I’m here, sweetheart.” She stroked his back gently, wiping the tears from his fur. The touch calmed him slightly, though his lips still trembled. When she offered him the bottle, he hesitated — pouting dramatically before finally taking a sip.
The first taste of milk melted his anger instantly. His eyes softened, and his cries turned into quiet hums as he drank greedily. Mom smiled lovingly, whispering, “There you go, my little boy.”
After finishing, A Tong cuddled close to her chest, blinking sleepily, his earlier anger forgotten. His small hand rested on Mom’s arm, as if forgiving her for being late.
Sometimes, even the smallest hearts feel the biggest emotions — and A Tong’s tears turned into peace once love returned to his side.
