The afternoon sun poured gently into the playroom, where two baby monkeys — Chamroeun and Minea — were supposed to be playing quietly. But things didn’t go quite as sweetly as planned.

Minea, full of energy and mischief, loved to play with her toys. But today, she decided her baby brother Chamroeun would make a much better toy than any of them. With a cheeky grin, she tugged at his tiny arm, pulling him closer. Chamroeun squealed in surprise, his little eyes wide with fear.

“Minea, stop! Don’t pull your brother!” their mom called gently from across the room. But Minea was too caught up in her playful excitement. She giggled loudly and continued to tug him as if he were a soft doll, not realizing how much smaller and weaker he was.

Chamroeun whimpered, his body stiff with fear. He didn’t understand why his sister was being so rough. He tried to crawl away, but Minea caught his tail, pulling him back toward her with another playful squeal. The tug made him yelp, his tiny hands shaking as he looked desperately for Mom.

When Mom saw him trembling, she rushed over and gently scooped him up. Chamroeun buried his face in her chest immediately, his tiny heart pounding. His little shoulders quivered, and soft sniffles escaped him as Mom rubbed his back soothingly.

Minea froze, realizing she had gone too far. Her mischievous smile faded into guilt. She looked down, her little hands clasped together, whispering, “Sorry, Chamroeun…”

Mom gave her a firm but kind look. “You have to be gentle, sweetheart. Your brother is still small. You can play, but you must take care of him.”

Minea nodded quietly, crawling closer. She reached out carefully and touched Chamroeun’s hand. He peeked out from Mom’s arms, still nervous, but when he saw her sad eyes, his trembling slowed. He let out a soft coo — not quite a smile yet, but a sign of forgiveness.

Mom smiled and wrapped both babies in her arms, rocking them softly. Chamroeun relaxed again, resting his head against Minea’s shoulder. She hugged him gently this time, whispering, “I’ll be careful, I promise.”

Peace returned to the room — two tiny hearts learning love, patience, and forgiveness together.
