It was feeding time again, and little baby monkey Loui could hardly wait. His tiny hands waved excitedly, his eyes wide and full of hunger. Mom warmed his milk gently, stirring it with care. Loui squeaked impatiently — he was always the most eager when it came to milk.
Finally, Mom sat down and held the bottle out. Loui grabbed it right away, pressing his lips tightly around the tip, drinking as fast as his tiny mouth could handle. He sucked greedily, his small cheeks puffing in and out. But this time, he was just a bit too excited.
A sudden sputter — and then a tiny squeak! Milk shot up his little nose, making him freeze in surprise. His eyes went wide, and his nose twitched rapidly. For a moment, he didn’t know what happened. Then, with a soft snort, a few drops of milk dribbled out of his nostrils.
“Poor baby!” Mom laughed softly, quickly grabbing a cloth to wipe his nose. Loui blinked, confused, his tiny chest still heaving from the shock. He sniffled once, twice — and then sneezed! A little “choo!” that startled even himself.
Mom couldn’t help smiling, gently rubbing his back as he whimpered softly, still trying to understand how his favorite drink betrayed him like that. His little fur around the nose was now damp with milk, his face scrunched up adorably.
But Loui wasn’t giving up. After a few seconds, he reached back toward the bottle, his tiny fingers trembling with determination. Mom smiled and helped him again — this time slower, careful not to let him gulp too fast.
He started to drink again, smaller sips now, his eyes half-closed in comfort. Each swallow was gentle, each breath steady. The warm milk filled his tummy, and soon his earlier scare was forgotten.
When he finished, he leaned back, belly round and full, licking his lips in satisfaction. His nose still glistened a bit, but he didn’t care. With a happy sigh, Loui curled up against Mom’s arm, drifting into a cozy nap.
Mom chuckled softly, whispering, “Such a silly boy… even milk wants to kiss your little nose.”
And in that sweet, peaceful moment, all was well again.
