The late afternoon sun painted the yard in warm gold as baby Titas, the tiny monkey princess, sat restlessly on the floor. She had been watching her mom move around the room, cleaning and preparing fruits, but what she really wanted was attention.
Mom glanced over and smiled briefly, thinking her little one was fine. But Titas had other plans. Her tiny face scrunched up, her lips trembled, and a soft cry escaped her mouth. “Eee…”
When that didn’t work, she made it louder. “EEEE!” The cry turned sharp and demanding, echoing through the house. Mom turned again, slightly startled, and said gently, “What’s wrong, my baby? Mommy’s right here.”
But that wasn’t enough for the dramatic little princess. She wanted to be held. Her tiny hands stretched out, palms open, her tail swishing impatiently behind her. She looked up at her mom with watery eyes, calling again and again, her voice rising each time.
The scene grew louder — Titas’ cries filled the air, almost like a song of heartbreak and frustration. She stomped her feet, tilted her head back, and screamed even louder, demanding, “Pick me up right now!” in her own baby monkey way.
Mom finally sighed, setting the fruit aside. “Oh my little princess, you win,” she said softly, walking over. The moment she reached out her arms, Titas’ cries turned into soft sniffles. She climbed quickly onto her mother’s chest, wrapping her tiny arms tightly around her neck.
As soon as she felt Mom’s warmth, all her anger melted away. Her breathing slowed, her eyes half-closed, and a little satisfied hum escaped her lips.
Mom gently stroked her back. “You’re just like a queen — can’t stand to be left alone, huh?” she whispered lovingly.
Titas looked up with big, shiny eyes and gave a tiny squeak as if to say, “Yes, that’s right.”
The two stayed like that for a long moment — the busy afternoon now peaceful again. The tantrum was forgotten, replaced by cuddles, warmth, and love.
For Princess Titas, nothing in the world mattered more than being in her mom’s arms — where everything felt safe, soft, and full of love.
