Alan Cries for Dad’s Attention

The afternoon breeze carried soft rustles through the trees, but for baby Alan, the world felt unfair. His tiny eyes followed his father, who was busy repairing a bamboo cage nearby. The sound of clinking tools echoed, but there was no sound sweeter to Alan than his father’s voice — and today, that voice wasn’t calling him.

Alan sat on the ground, his little tail curled around his legs, watching closely. At first, he waited patiently. He thought maybe Dad would soon scoop him up, play with him, or give him a gentle scratch behind the ear. But as the minutes passed, the little monkey began to frown. His lips trembled, and a soft whimper escaped.

“Eee… eee…” he cried, hoping Dad would turn around. But Dad was still too focused on his work, carefully tying knots and fixing things for the other monkeys.

That was enough to break Alan’s patience. His tiny hands slapped the ground, and he screamed — a loud, heartbreaking cry that echoed through the yard. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he stomped his little feet, letting everyone know just how sad he felt.

Finally, Dad looked up. “Alan? What’s wrong, baby?” he asked, surprised. But when he saw his little one’s teary eyes and puffed-up cheeks, his heart softened instantly.

Alan refused to look at him, crossing his arms and turning away. His message was clear — you forgot me!

Dad chuckled softly, setting aside his work. He walked over, kneeling down beside the sulking baby. “Oh, my little drama king,” he said gently. “I didn’t forget you.” He reached out his arms, and though Alan tried to resist at first, he soon climbed up onto his dad’s chest, burying his tiny face in his shirt.

Dad rubbed his back, whispering softly, “Daddy’s here now.” The little monkey sniffled, his cries slowly fading into tiny hiccups.

As the sun dipped lower in the sky, Alan finally relaxed, clinging tightly to his father’s neck. He didn’t care about the toys, the milk, or the world — he just wanted love.

And in that warm embrace, he found everything he had been crying for. ❤️
