The warm evening air filled the room as baby monkey Chamroeun finished his cozy bath. The water droplets glistened on his soft fur while Mom gently wrapped him in a fluffy towel. He loved bath time — the splashes, the gentle scrubbing, and the sweet scent of baby soap. But what made him happiest came after: waiting for Daddy.
As Mom lifted him out of the tub, Chamroeun shook his little body, sending tiny drops flying everywhere. He blinked his big brown eyes and made a soft chirping sound, feeling refreshed and proud. Mom laughed softly, “Alright, my clean boy, let’s get you ready.”
She placed him carefully on the wooden table where he usually waited after his bath. Chamroeun stood up straight, his tiny hands folded neatly in front of him. For once, the mischievous little monkey was calm and quiet — almost like he knew this was an important moment.
He glanced around, eyes searching for Daddy. Every time he heard footsteps, his tail twitched with excitement. The towel still clung loosely around his shoulders, making him look like a tiny royal prince waiting for his caretaker.
When Daddy finally walked in, Chamroeun’s face lit up. His mouth opened in a wide, toothy grin, and he let out a cheerful squeak. But he didn’t move. He stood perfectly still, just as Mom had told him, waiting patiently for Daddy’s cue.
Daddy smiled proudly. “Good boy, Chamroeun,” he said, gently patting his head. “You’re learning to behave so well.” The baby monkey’s chest puffed out with pride, and his tail curled happily behind him.
Mom handed Daddy a soft brush, and together they began drying and combing his fur. Chamroeun stood there the whole time, eyes half-closed, enjoying every gentle stroke. He wiggled a little when the brush tickled his belly but stayed obediently in place.
When they were done, Daddy gave him a small cuddle and whispered, “That’s my good boy.” Chamroeun leaned in, pressing his tiny face against Daddy’s neck.
That night, as he snuggled in his blanket, clean and content, Chamroeun closed his eyes knowing he’d made Daddy proud.
Because even for a playful baby monkey, moments of calm and obedience can shine brighter than any mischief.
