Sweet little CiCi, an orphan baby monkey recently rescued, was just beginning to explore her new world. Every day brought something new — toys, blankets, fruits, and gentle hands to care for her. But nothing could have prepared her for today’s big surprise: a bright red dragon fruit placed right in front of her.
At first, CiCi stared at it curiously, her tiny head tilting from side to side. The fruit looked strange — round, red, and covered in soft spikes. She sniffed the air, inching closer with her little nose twitching. But the moment the fruit rolled slightly toward her, she jumped back in terror, letting out a sharp squeal! 😱
Her tiny body froze, her eyes wide as if the fruit might come alive. She clung to the corner of her blanket, peeking out with both fear and fascination. The caretakers couldn’t help but laugh softly, watching her adorable mix of emotions.
After a few minutes, they gently moved the dragon fruit closer again. This time, CiCi reached out one trembling hand and poked it with her tiny finger. When nothing happened, she looked surprised — maybe it wasn’t a monster after all! Slowly, her fear turned into curiosity.
With another brave move, she sniffed it again, then gave it a tiny lick. Her face twisted instantly — the taste was too strange! She smacked her lips, shook her head, and hid behind her towel as if blaming the fruit for tricking her.
Though it was just a harmless fruit, to CiCi it had been a great adventure — her first step in learning that not everything new is scary. One day, she’ll be brave enough to eat it… but for now, the dragon fruit remains her funny little enemy.
