Mom Teaches Little Koy to Listen

Little Koy had been full of energy since sunrise. She climbed everywhere, tugged at leaves, scattered fruit, and ignored every word her mother said. When Mom called her back softly, Koy only squeaked, leapt to another branch, and giggled mischievously. She thought it was a game — but Mom knew it was time for a gentle lesson.

After Koy tried to snatch food from another baby’s bowl, Mom finally stepped in. With a firm but calm expression, she pulled Koy close by the arm and sat her down. Koy wriggled, pouted, and tried to escape, but Mom didn’t let go. The other monkeys watched quietly — they knew this was Mom’s way of teaching love through discipline.

“Koy,” Mom’s soft grunt seemed to say, “you must learn to listen.” She tapped Koy’s little hands gently and made her sit still. For a few seconds, Koy looked shocked. Then her big brown eyes filled with tears. She wasn’t hurt — just surprised that her fun had turned serious.

Mom didn’t scold further. She simply wrapped her tail around Koy, keeping her close. Slowly, Koy’s tears stopped. Her tiny hands rested against her mother’s chest, feeling the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. The warmth reminded her that even when Mom seemed stern, her love never faded.

Later that day, when Mom called again, Koy came running immediately — no hesitation this time. She clung to Mom’s leg, as if to say, “I understand now.”

Mom smiled softly and stroked her head. The lesson was learned — not through anger, but through love.

As the sun set and they cuddled under the trees, Koy drifted off to sleep, safe in her mother’s arms, realizing that even the hardest lessons come from a heart that truly cares.
