Evening settled softly over the rescue home, painting everything in shades of gold. Little Lucu, the baby monkey, was fighting her hardest battle yet — the battle to stay awake. Her eyelids drooped lower with every passing minute, but her tiny heart refused to give in. She didn’t want to sleep yet… not without hugging her daddy first.
Her dad was sitting nearby, gently brushing her fur while humming a soft tune. Lucu’s head wobbled as she tried to keep her eyes open. She blinked once, twice — then let out a long, adorable yawn that made her tiny face scrunch up like a sleepy flower.
Daddy chuckled softly. “Someone’s getting tired, hmm?” he said, but Lucu shook her head in protest, her little arms reaching toward him. She gave a soft “eee” — her way of saying, “No sleep, just one more hug.”
He smiled and lifted her carefully into his lap. The moment she felt his warmth, Lucu buried her face in his chest and wrapped her tiny arms around his shirt. Her tail curled like a ribbon as she let out a small sigh of comfort.
Her breathing slowed. Every few seconds, her hand twitched as if she were trying to stay awake — but soon, sleep won the fight. She melted completely in his arms, her little mouth still pressed against his chest, her body soft and safe.
Daddy looked down at her with gentle eyes and whispered, “Goodnight, my baby.”
Lucu didn’t respond — only murmured in her sleep, still hugging him tightly. The stars shimmered through the window, and the night grew quiet.
In her dreams, she was still in his arms — proof that even in sleep, love never lets go.
