The Twin Tantrum

Inside a cozy little basket, two newborn twin monkeys wriggled and squeaked — their names were Lino and Lani, the tiniest pair anyone had ever seen. Usually, they were peaceful when cuddled close, their little hands gripping each other for comfort. But today was different. Their caretaker had stepped away just for a few minutes, and suddenly, the world felt far too big and cold.

First came a soft whimper from Lino. Then Lani joined in with an even louder cry, and before long, both were wailing in perfect harmony — tiny faces scrunched up, arms flailing, little tails twitching in distress. The basket shook slightly from their squirming, their cries echoing through the room.

They didn’t want milk. They didn’t want toys. They just wanted what baby monkeys crave the most — a cuddle.

When the caretaker returned, she gasped softly at the sight — two furious little faces covered in tears. “Oh, my poor babies,” she whispered, scooping them gently into her arms. The moment they felt warmth against their fur, the crying stopped almost instantly. Lani pressed her face into the caretaker’s chest, while Lino grabbed her finger tightly, refusing to let go.

Within seconds, their tantrum melted into soft sighs. Their tiny chests rose and fell in unison, and soon, both were fast asleep — comforted, safe, and deeply loved.

The caretaker smiled, brushing a kiss over their tiny heads. “You just wanted love, didn’t you?” she whispered.

That afternoon, the twins slept peacefully, nestled close together in their basket — a reminder that for baby monkeys, no comfort is greater than a warm cuddle and a gentle heart nearby.
