Baby Luna sat alone on the soft mat near the window, her little hands gripping the edge as she peered outside. The sun was shining, and the breeze rustled the trees—but Luna didn’t care. Her mommy and daddy had just stepped out to clean the backyard, and she was left all alone inside.

At first, Luna waited quietly, hoping they would come right back. But seconds turned into minutes, and her patience melted into panic.

A loud, heartbreaking cry filled the room.

“Eeehh! Ahhh! Mmmhhh!” Luna sobbed, her tiny face scrunched up and eyes wet with tears. She crawled to the door and smacked it with her palms, calling out for them. “Maaa! Daaa!”

But they didn’t hear.

She thought she’d been forgotten. Her heart pounded in her chest. All she wanted was to be held—to feel mommy’s soft hand and daddy’s gentle kiss on her cheek. The silence inside the house felt scary and cold.

Suddenly, the door creaked.

“Luna?” came daddy’s voice.

Her head popped up, eyes wide with hope. When she saw them walking in—both covered in dust and smiles—Luna screamed again, but this time out of relief and frustration. She ran to them with open arms, tears still flowing.

Mommy scooped her up instantly. “Oh, my baby! We were just outside for a few minutes!”

Luna clung to her neck like she’d never let go again.

That night, she didn’t want to leave mommy’s lap—not even to sleep.

For baby Luna, love means being near. And even a moment apart feels like forever.
