A Tong’s First Steps on Two Legs

Bright sunlight filtered through the trees as baby monkey A Tong stepped outside with his mom. The world was full of excitement—fluttering leaves, dancing shadows, and chirping birds. But today, there was a special mission: Mom was going to teach A Tong how to walk on two legs.

At first, A Tong just blinked, unsure of what his mom wanted. She gently lifted him under his arms and helped him stand upright. His tiny feet wobbled, and his tail instinctively curled for balance. He let out a curious squeak and looked up at Mom, as if asking, “Are you sure about this?”

Mom clapped her hands and stepped back slowly, encouraging him. “One step, A Tong. Just one,” she seemed to say.

A Tong stretched out a shaky leg and placed one foot forward. Then the other. He wobbled dangerously—his arms flailed—but he didn’t fall. He did it! One step turned into two, and then three.

He giggled in surprise. Mom chirped happily and clapped again. With each cheer, A Tong grew braver. His little legs moved faster, and although he tumbled onto his bottom a few times, he kept trying. His determination was strong, and his trust in Mom even stronger.

Other monkeys peeked from the trees, watching the little scene. A Tong was stealing the spotlight—his adorable stumbles and triumphant squeals echoing through the forest.

At the end of their training, A Tong sat proudly next to Mom. His chest puffed out, tail wagging with joy. He had taken his first steps like a big monkey—and the look in Mom’s eyes said she couldn’t be prouder.
