Jasmine’s Stubborn Mood Worries Mom

It was supposed to be a calm afternoon. Mom had just finished preparing milk for the baby monkeys and was calling them over one by one. Everyone came quickly—except Jasmine.

The little girl monkey stood in the corner, arms crossed, lips pouting, and eyes narrowed. Stubborn as ever, she refused to move.

“Jasmine, come here, sweetie,” Mom called gently.

No response.

Instead, Jasmine huffed and turned her back. She was upset—jealous, actually. She had seen Mom cuddling BB Koy for longer than usual earlier, and her little heart couldn’t take it.

As BB Koy crawled over playfully to nudge her, Jasmine snapped. With a sudden squeal, she swatted the air and moved away from him, her mood clearly growing heavier. BB Koy looked confused and hurt. Mom noticed right away.

“Jasmine! That’s not nice,” Mom said, rushing over.

Jasmine didn’t want to listen. She sat down with her arms tightly folded, her tail tucked, and refused even to make eye contact. Her tiny body trembled, not with fear, but with emotion she didn’t know how to express.

Mom gently picked her up. “Are you upset because Mommy held Koy longer?” she whispered.

Jasmine blinked fast, then slowly lowered her head onto Mom’s chest. She didn’t say anything, but her little sigh said it all.

Mom kissed her forehead and cuddled both Jasmine and BB Koy close together. “There’s enough love for both of you,” she said softly.

And in that moment, Jasmine let go of her stubbornness, just a little. She clung to Mom’s shirt and finally gave Koy a shy pat.
