Little ATong was full of wild energy today. His fluffy hair stood on end, and his tiny hands couldn’t stop clapping. All he wanted was to play with his best buddy, TanTan. The two baby monkeys were usually inseparable—chasing, jumping, and wrestling until they were too tired to move.
But today, something was off.
TanTan was feeling quiet and sleepy. He sat on a soft mat under a tree, eyes half-closed, not in the mood for games. But ATong didn’t understand. He tugged on TanTan’s arm and gave a playful push. “Let’s go!” his eyes seemed to say.
TanTan turned his head away, uninterested.
And that’s when it happened.
ATong’s face twisted into frustration. His little chest puffed up, and then he let out a massive scream—a high-pitched, angry shriek that echoed through the yard. It was so sudden, even the birds flew off the branches nearby!
“EeeeeEEEEE!!” he howled again, stomping his feet.
Mom came running, startled by the chaos. She tried to calm him, but ATong turned his tantrum toward her. He threw himself on the ground, rolled, and screamed louder. His feelings were hurt—why wouldn’t his best friend play with him?
Mom gently picked him up, brushing the leaves from his fur. She held him close, whispering soft monkey sounds. ATong sniffled and clung to her, still upset, but slowly calming down.
TanTan peeked over, curious but still resting. With time, ATong would understand—not every moment is playtime, and friends sometimes need quiet too.
But for now, the fiery little monkey had made his feelings clear: he just missed his buddy.
And when TanTan’s nap ended, they were back to being partners in fun once again. 🐒❤️🎉
