Sara’s Tearful Tantrum in the Green Frock

It was a calm afternoon, the sun gently filtering through the windows, casting a warm glow on the room where baby monkey Sara sat. Dressed in a beautiful dark green frock, the fabric soft and flowing, Sara looked like a little princess perched on a small wooden table. Her round eyes, usually sparkling with curiosity, were now clouded with frustration. Her tiny hands gripped the edge of the table, and she shifted uncomfortably, her feet dangling off the side. The room felt too big, too quiet. She was alone, and the absence of her mom, who was busy in the kitchen, filled her with unease. Sara’s little body trembled as she let out a soft moan, the sound barely louder than a whisper at first.

But the moan quickly escalated. “Eeeeeeek! Aaaaaaah!” Sara’s voice cut through the silence, a sharp wail that echoed around the room. Her cries grew louder, more insistent. The walls seemed to bounce back her sorrow, amplifying it. She wanted her mommy, and she wanted her now.

Her tears welled up, and soon her cheeks were streaked with tiny rivers of sadness. She stretched her arms outward, as if that simple motion could bring her mom rushing into the room. But there was no sign of movement from the kitchen. No comforting footsteps, no familiar voice.

“Eeeeeh! Mooooom!” Sara’s sobs grew more frantic, her voice a desperate call that broke anyone’s heart to hear. She pounded her tiny fists on the table, her frustration bubbling over. Why wasn’t mommy coming? She always came when Sara called.

Sara’s cries turned into loud, hiccuping sobs. She curled her body on the table, holding her knees close to her chest, as her cries became more frantic. Her beautiful dark green frock, the one she had been so proud of, was now wrinkled, crumpled as she rocked back and forth in her sadness.

In the kitchen, Sara’s mom was busy washing vegetables, unaware of how intense Sara’s crying had become. The gentle clattering of pots and pans drowned out Sara’s voice at first, but soon, the loud sobbing broke through even the busiest sounds of the kitchen. Sara’s mom froze, her hands still wet, and her heart immediately filled with concern.

“Oh no, what’s wrong with my baby?” she whispered, already drying her hands in a rush.

Meanwhile, Sara’s crying hit its peak. Her voice was hoarse from the effort, and her little chest rose and fell rapidly. Her entire body shook with the intensity of her emotions. She felt so abandoned, so alone, sitting on that small table in her dark green frock, her heart breaking as she longed for the one person who could make everything better.

And then, through her blurry, tear-filled eyes, Sara saw her mom at the doorway. Her sobs faltered, replaced by a hopeful gasp. There she was! Mommy was here!

Sara’s mom hurried over, sweeping her into her arms, cradling her tightly. “Oh, my sweet girl, I’m here, I’m here,” she murmured softly, kissing Sara’s head and wiping away the tears with her gentle hands.

Sara buried her face in her mom’s chest, her sobs slowly quieting down to soft whimpers. Her tiny fingers clung to the fabric of her mom’s shirt, not wanting to let go. The relief she felt was overwhelming. She had felt so lost, so scared, but now that her mom was holding her, everything was okay again.

Her mom sat down, holding Sara close as she rocked her gently. “I’m sorry I left you alone for so long, sweetie,” she whispered. “Mommy’s here now. You’re safe.”

Sara let out a final, exhausted sigh, her cries now just soft hiccups. She snuggled deeper into her mom’s embrace, her heart finally at ease. Her dark green frock shimmered in the afternoon light as her mom held her close, whispering soothing words until Sara’s eyes fluttered shut in tired contentment.
