It was supposed to be just another playful afternoon in the sunny backyard, where Chamroeun and his sister Yuri loved to climb, jump, and chase each other around. But today, things didn’t go as expected.
Chamroeun was quietly sitting under the tree, playing with a dry leaf he found on the ground, his little hands turning it over curiously. Suddenly, wild and energetic Yuri came bouncing over, full of mischief and excitement. She tried to get Chamroeun’s attention by tapping his shoulder, then pulling at his tail gently—but Chamroeun was too focused on his leaf.
Feeling ignored and a bit impatient, Yuri pouted and did something she shouldn’t have—she leaned over and gave her brother a playful but sharp bite on the top of his head!
Chamroeun froze for a moment, then let out a loud, heart-wrenching cry. His tiny hands flew up to his head as he looked around, confused and hurt. Tears welled up in his eyes, and his wails echoed through the backyard.
Mom immediately rushed over, picking up the crying Chamroeun in her arms. She checked his head gently, kissed the spot, and rocked him back and forth to calm him down.
Meanwhile, little Yuri, realizing she had gone too far, looked at her brother with guilty eyes. She sat a few steps away, her playful energy replaced with regret.
Chamroeun’s cries slowly softened in Mom’s arms as he felt her soothing touch. She held him close, whispering to him softly, assuring him everything was okay now.
Yuri crept closer and reached out with her little hand to touch her brother’s. Chamroeun looked at her through teary eyes. Forgiveness was already there—because that’s how sibling love works, even in the monkey world.
