Spoiled Rojo Comfort-Sucks Constantly

Little Rojo, the spoiled baby monkey, had a unique habit that everyone at the sanctuary knew well. No matter what time of day it was, if he wasn’t eating, playing, or snuggling with his caretaker, he could always be found sucking on his tiny thumb—or sometimes even on his own arm—for comfort.

Rojo had grown very attached to his caretakers since being rescued. He loved being carried around like a baby and wrapped in soft blankets, but whenever he was left alone for even a minute, he’d immediately begin his comfort routine. He would curl up in the corner of his bed, let out a few dramatic squeaks, and begin sucking as if trying to soothe his own little heart.

The caretakers would often smile watching him. “There goes Rojo again,” one would say with a chuckle, “he acts like a prince who must be pampered every second!”

Sometimes, if he was feeling especially dramatic, Rojo would roll onto his back and lift his tiny feet in the air while sucking, as if putting on a show for attention. And when his caretaker finally returned, Rojo would give a little whimper, crawl straight into their arms, and continue sucking while cuddled safely.

It was his way of staying calm, his tiny comfort in a big and sometimes confusing world. Other monkeys would play rough or jump around, but not Rojo. He preferred peace, gentle touches, and always something to suck on.

Over time, Rojo began to rely less on his comfort sucking as he grew more confident and active—but whenever he got sleepy or moody, he’d go right back to that familiar, soothing habit.

Spoiled? Definitely.

But with that adorable face and gentle nature, who could ever say no to little Rojo?
