Toto Cries Loud as Fingers Blocked for Protection

Little baby monkey Toto was full of energy from the moment the sun peeked through the trees. Her tiny hands were always reaching, grabbing, and exploring everything around her. Today, however, something different happened—and she didn’t like it one bit.

Mom noticed that Toto had been putting her fingers in her mouth a lot lately. With the weather changing and some bugs going around, Mom grew concerned. She decided it was time to protect Toto from getting sick. So she gently wrapped a soft band around Toto’s fingers—not tight, just enough to remind her not to chew on them.

But oh no! The moment Toto saw her fingers were wrapped, her big round eyes widened, and she froze. Then came the cry. A sharp, dramatic wail echoed through the yard.

“WAAHHH!” Toto screamed, waving her tiny arms in the air, as if the world had just ended.

Mom stayed calm and tried to soothe her, gently explaining, “It’s just to keep you safe, my baby.”

But Toto didn’t want to hear it. She stomped her feet, sat down with a pout, and pulled at the wrap with frustration. Her sister, watching nearby, tilted her head, confused at all the drama over fingers.

Toto rolled on the soft grass, let out another loud cry, then looked at Mom with big, teary eyes—pleading for the wrap to come off. But Mom stayed firm. It was for Toto’s own good.

Eventually, after a long round of fussing, Toto quieted down. Mom cuddled her close, humming softly, and kissed her on the forehead. With time, Toto accepted the wrap and even forgot about it while playing again.

Her tears dried, her tantrum faded, and the day went on—with a little more safety, and a lot more love
