ChiChi and Linda sat side by side, their tiny eyes locked onto their mom, who was resting nearby. Both baby monkeys had the same thought running through their little minds—milk time. But Mom wasn’t moving to feed them, and that made them both very impatient.
Linda, always the troublemaker, nudged ChiChi with her elbow and whispered in her monkey way, “Let’s do something!” ChiChi, understanding immediately, nodded with determination.
The two baby monkeys pouted their lips and started making small whimpering sounds. At first, Mom didn’t react. She was still grooming herself, seemingly ignoring their dramatic little act. That’s when Linda decided to step things up.
She climbed onto Mom’s lap, clinging to her with both arms while letting out a soft, needy cry. ChiChi, not wanting to be left behind, followed quickly, pushing her tiny head against Mom’s chest. Both of them now looked up with their round, pleading eyes, their little hands gently tugging at her fur.
Mom sighed, clearly amused but not fooled by their trick. “You two just ate not long ago,” she seemed to say with a gentle pat on their heads. But ChiChi and Linda weren’t giving up so easily.
Linda suddenly leaned against ChiChi, pretending to be weak. Seeing this, ChiChi copied her, making a sad little whimper as if they were the most pitiful babies in the world.
Finally, after a few more dramatic gestures and little cries, Mom gave in. She pulled both of them close, letting them drink their much-desired milk.
As they happily suckled, ChiChi and Linda exchanged a quick, victorious glance. Their plan had worked perfectly!
