It was a peaceful morning until a sudden, high-pitched scream echoed through the air. Little Yuri, the feisty baby monkey, was throwing a tantrum—again. Her tiny body trembled with frustration as she stomped her little feet on the wooden floor. Her mother sat nearby, looking unimpressed, her arms crossed as she tried to remain patient.
It all started when Yuri decided to climb up the wooden table, knocking over a bowl of fruit in the process. Pieces of banana and mango scattered everywhere, making a sticky mess. Instead of feeling guilty, Yuri grinned mischievously and prepared to climb even higher.
But Mom had seen enough.
“Yuri, you have to listen,” Mom said firmly, gently pulling her down from the table. “You can’t just do whatever you want all the time. You must behave!”
That was all it took for Yuri to explode.
The little monkey let out a dramatic, ear-piercing scream. She threw herself onto the floor, rolling back and forth, waving her tiny arms in protest. Her face scrunched up, her mouth wide open as if the world was ending.
Mom sighed and shook her head. “Yuri, screaming won’t change anything.”
But Yuri wasn’t listening. She continued wailing, making sure everyone in the area knew how unfairly she was being treated. Other monkeys stopped to watch the spectacle, some amused, others shaking their heads knowingly—this wasn’t the first time Yuri had thrown a fit.
Mom, however, wasn’t giving in. She calmly picked up a piece of fruit, peeled it, and started eating. She wasn’t going to reward bad behavior.
Yuri paused mid-scream, her eyes darting toward the delicious-looking fruit. She hesitated. Her tantrum had drained her energy, and the smell of the sweet banana was tempting.
Mom glanced at her. “Are you done?”
Yuri sniffled, slowly sitting up. She didn’t answer, but her eyes were locked on the banana. Mom smirked, knowing she had won.
Without another word, she handed Yuri a small piece. The little monkey eagerly took it, stuffing it into her mouth.
And just like that, the tantrum was over.
