The tiny baby monkey sat on the wooden table in the yard, his little legs dangling off the edge. His big, round eyes glistened with tears as he scanned the area, looking for Mom.
But she was nowhere in sight.
His little hands tapped the table, his chest rising and falling quickly. Where did she go? Why did she leave him here alone?
Suddenly, his bottom lip quivered. His tiny fingers curled into fists, and before he could stop himself—
“MOMMYYYY!!!” he screamed, his voice cracking with heartbreak.
His little body shook as he kicked his legs, thrashed his arms, and threw himself onto his back. Dramatic tantrum mode: activated.
Tears streamed down his soft cheeks, his cries echoing through the yard.
Still, no one came running.
He sniffled loudly, hugging his own tiny arms for comfort. How could she do this to him?
Just when he was about to start wailing again, the door creaked open.
His ears perked up.
And then—MOM!
She walked toward him, holding a small warm blanket and his favorite milk bottle.
The second he saw her, he leaped onto her chest, clinging with all his strength.
Mom chuckled. “You little drama king! I was only gone for a minute!”
