It was late at night, and the tiny baby monkey sat patiently on the table, waiting for Dad to take her to bed.
Her big, sleepy eyes blinked slowly. Her little body swayed as she fought to stay awake.
Where is Dad?
She yawned, rubbing her tiny face with her hands. The warm, cozy bed was so close, but she didn’t want to go without Dad.
Her eyes drooped… her head bobbed… her little tail twitched…
And then—
WHOOPS!
She tipped over and lost her balance!
Before she knew it, she was falling!
THUD!
She landed softly on the floor, but the shock made her burst into tears.
“WAAAHHH!”
Dad rushed in, hearing her cries. “Oh no! What happened, my baby?”
She looked up at him, tiny arms reaching out, sniffling between sobs.
Dad scooped her up, holding her close. “Did you fall while waiting for me?” he asked, gently checking her for any injuries.
She buried her face into his chest, clinging to him tightly.
Dad kissed her tiny head. “I’m sorry, sweetheart. Let’s go to bed now.”
She let out one last little sniffle before resting her head on his shoulder.
As he rocked her gently, her little body finally relaxed, her breathing softening.
Now, safe in Dad’s arms, she drifted off to sleep—right where she wanted to be all along.
