The wait was too much for the little baby monkey.
At first, he had been patient. He sat quietly, glancing at the door, expecting mom to return any minute. But the minutes stretched longer… and longer… and suddenly, it felt like an eternity!
His little face scrunched up, his tiny hands balled into fists, and then—
“WAAAAHHH!!”
His cries shook the entire place as he threw himself backward, kicking his tiny feet in frustration.
Where is she?! Why isn’t she back yet?!
Tears streamed down his face as he sobbed dramatically, rolling side to side, making sure everyone knew he was upset. His little body trembled with each sharp breath as he let out another heart-wrenching cry.
Some of the other monkeys peeked over, curious about all the fuss. But he didn’t care—only mom could fix this!
He hiccupped, his sobs turning desperate. He missed her warmth, her hugs, the way she always picked him up when he wanted. Why did she leave him for so long?!
Just when he thought he couldn’t take it anymore, he heard footsteps.
His ears perked up, and suddenly—there she was!
“Baby, why are you crying so much?” mom sighed as she scooped him up.
The moment he felt her arms around him, his tantrum vanished. His tiny fingers clung to her fur, his cries fading into little sniffles.
Finally, she was back.
Mom chuckled, rocking him gently. “You’re so spoiled, my little drama baby.”
He nuzzled into her chest with a tiny pout. Next time, she better not take so long!
