Little Linda was not happy today.

She had woken up expecting to see mom, to feel her warm hugs, to hear her soothing voice. But mom had stepped out for a bit, and Linda was not okay with that.

At first, she waited patiently. She sat by the door, glancing around, hoping mom would walk in any second. But minutes passed… and then more… and still, no mom!

Her tiny lips trembled. Her eyes filled with tears. And then—

“WAAAAHHH!”

She collapsed onto the floor, crying sharply, her wails echoing through the room. Her little fists pounded against the ground as she kicked her legs in frustration.

Where is mom?! Why is she taking so long?!

She rolled onto her side, sobbing dramatically, her tiny chest rising and falling with every heartbreaking cry.

A few other monkeys peeked over, watching curiously. But Linda didn’t care. She needed her mom, and nothing else mattered!

Just when she thought she couldn’t cry any harder, the door finally opened.

Mom stepped in, and Linda immediately sat up, tears still fresh on her face. With one last dramatic sob, she sprinted toward mom and clung to her legs, refusing to let go.

“Oh, Linda,” mom cooed, picking her up and cradling her close. “I was only gone for a little while!”

Linda sniffled, burying her face in mom’s chest. She didn’t care. To her, even a second away felt forever.

But now, in mom’s arms, her world was okay again.
