Yuri was in one of those moods today—nothing seemed to go her way.
It all started when mom tried to get her to sit down for a snack. “Come on, Yuri, let’s eat!” mom said cheerfully, but Yuri wasn’t having any of it.
“Nooo!” Yuri cried, crossing her arms with a big pout. “I don’t want to!”
Mom raised an eyebrow, but tried to stay calm. “Yuri, you need to eat. It’s good for you.”
But that was just the beginning.
Next, mom handed Yuri her favorite toy, thinking it might cheer her up. “Here, sweetie. Play with this!”
Yuri’s eyes widened in horror. She threw the toy aside dramatically and shouted, “It’s not pink enough!”
Mom couldn’t help but chuckle, but Yuri was not laughing. She stomped her little feet and let out a high-pitched wail, as if the world was ending over a toy color.
“Yuri, please, calm down!” mom said, bending down to comfort her. But it was no use.
Yuri threw herself on the floor, kicking and crying like it was the biggest tragedy ever.
She is so dramatic! mom thought, sighing.
With a deep breath, mom picked Yuri up and gave her a tight hug. “It’s okay, baby. I know you’re upset. But you’re being a little silly.”
Yuri sniffled but slowly calmed down, realizing she had been a bit over the top. “I’m sorry, Mom,” she whispered.
