It was a peaceful morning, and the house echoed with calmness until baby monkey David’s loud cries shattered the silence. His mom had just placed him gently on the wooden table to clean up some things nearby, but David was having none of it.
“Nooo!” David shrieked, his tiny fists pounding the surface of the table. His tail whipped back and forth in frustration. His face scrunched into a pout, and big tears rolled down his cheeks as he cried louder and louder, demanding attention.
Mom glanced back from across the room, trying to stay calm. “David, just sit there for a moment. I’ll be right back,” she said soothingly. But David was already in full tantrum mode, shaking his little body as if the world had wronged him.
He stomped his tiny feet on the table, throwing his head back dramatically as if performing for an unseen audience. “Eeeeee! Eeeee!” he wailed, his cries echoing through the yard. The stubborn little monkey wasn’t going to give up easily.
Mom hurried back, worried the neighbors might hear the commotion and think something terrible had happened. She scooped David up, brushing his fur gently. “What’s all this noise for, little one? I just left for a minute!”
David sniffled, burying his face in his mom’s shoulder, his tantrum fading into soft whimpers. Though still upset, he finally found peace in her comforting arms.
Mom smiled patiently. “You’re such a little drama king, David,” she teased. David, feeling victorious, clung tightly to her as though the whole ordeal had been worth it just to be carried again.
Even on his fussiest days, David knew his mom would always come back for him
