In the heart of the jungle, little Bobo sat on a thick tree branch, his tiny face scrunched up in frustration. His little mouth opened wide, and—
“WAAAAAHHHHHH!”
A loud, dramatic cry echoed through the trees. Birds fluttered away, and other monkeys turned their heads in surprise.
Mama Monkey rushed over. “Bobo! What’s wrong, my baby?”
Bobo sniffled, his tiny hands balled into fists. “I… I… I don’t know!” he wailed, louder this time.
Mama blinked. “You don’t know?”
Bobo shook his head. “I just feel… AHHHHH!” He let out another loud cry, kicking his tiny feet.
Mama Monkey tried to think. “Are you hungry?”
Bobo paused. “No…”
“Are you sleepy?”
Bobo frowned. “I don’t think so…”
“Did someone take your banana?”
Bobo gasped, then checked his hands. His banana was still there. “Nope.”
Mama Monkey smiled, realizing what was happening. “Oh, my silly Bobo. Sometimes, little monkeys just need to cry for no reason.”
Bobo sniffled again. “Really?”
Mama nodded and pulled him into a hug. “Yes, and that’s okay. But after you’re done, let’s go play, alright?”
Bobo thought for a moment. His big, sad eyes blinked away the last of his tears. Then he nodded. “Okay!”
And just like that, he was happy again, swinging off to play with his friends—completely forgetting why he was crying in the first place!
