Crying for Water, Hungry for Food

Under the scorching sun, two baby monkeys, Kiko and Lala, sat on a dry branch, their tiny bodies weak from hunger and thirst. The jungle, once filled with lush greenery and sweet fruits, had turned into a land of dryness. The river had shrunk into a muddy stream, and food was nowhere to be found.

Lala wiped her tears. “Kiko, I’m so thirsty…”

Kiko, though just as exhausted, held her hand. “We have to find water, Lala. Let’s go.”

With trembling limbs, they climbed down and wandered through the forest, their eyes scanning for anything to drink or eat. Suddenly, Kiko spotted a coconut high up in a palm tree.

“There! If we can break it, we’ll have water!” he exclaimed.

But the tree was too tall for them to climb. Lala’s stomach rumbled. “We can’t reach it, Kiko…”

Determined, Kiko picked up a small rock and threw it as hard as he could. It missed. He tried again. And again. Finally, with one last throw, the coconut fell, cracking open. Sweet coconut water spilled onto the ground.

Lala rushed over, licking the water eagerly. Kiko did the same, relief washing over them.

With newfound energy, they continued their journey, finding a patch of berries hidden in the bushes. They ate quickly, their hunger finally easing.

As they rested under the shade of a tree, Kiko smiled at Lala. “See? We never give up.”

Lala grinned back. “Because we have each other.”

And in the middle of their harsh world, the two baby monkeys found hope.
