The sun hung high in the sky, casting golden rays over the quiet clearing where the water station stood. Little Bibi, a baby monkey with wide, curious eyes and a tuft of unruly fur on her head, had wandered there with a combination of eagerness and trepidation. She was small, barely reaching the height of the nearby buckets, and her energy seemed endless despite her petite frame.
Today, though, she looked tired. Her tiny hands rubbed at her face as she glanced around, her tummy growling faintly. It was clear that Bibi needed a little help.
The caretaker, spotting her from a distance, immediately walked over with a warm bottle of milk. Bibi’s eyes lit up as she saw the bottle, her tiny tail flicking back and forth with excitement. She hopped toward the caretaker but stopped abruptly, turning her head to look at the glimmering pool of water nearby. Was she thirsty too?
The caretaker gently scooped her up, laughing softly at her indecision. “Let’s take care of that little tummy first,” they said, offering the bottle. Bibi latched onto the nipple eagerly, her small hands clutching the bottle tightly. She drank in rapid gulps, pausing only to blink up at her caretaker with a look of gratitude.
Once her bottle was empty, Bibi smacked her lips and reached out toward the water station. The caretaker lowered her to the edge of the shallow pool, and she dipped her tiny fingers in, splashing playfully. The cool water seemed to refresh her, and soon her energy returned.
With her belly full and her thirst quenched, Bibi climbed onto the caretaker’s shoulder, content and happy. The little monkey had everything she needed: care, nourishment, and love.
