Oh no! Little Luna was supposed to have her milk, but instead she decided she had a completely different plan.
Mommy carefully prepared Luna’s appropriate feeding and offered it to her. Luna looked at the bottle for a moment.
Then she turned her head away.
“Luna, sweetheart, it’s time for your milk.”
Luna wasn’t interested.
She pushed herself away and made a tiny complaining sound.
“Eee!”
Mommy gently tried again, but Luna stubbornly refused. She seemed determined to prove that she could do whatever she wanted.
“Are you really saying no to your breakfast?” Mommy asked with a smile.
Luna looked at her.
Then, suddenly, she turned around and started moving away.
“Luna, wait!”
The little monkey continued forward, full of confidence and mischief. She seemed completely focused on escaping from the unwanted milk.
But she was moving too quickly.
Her tiny feet slipped, and she suddenly lost her balance.
“Ah!”
Luna tumbled forward and landed face down on a soft, safe surface.
For a moment, she stayed still.
Mommy immediately came over.
“Luna!”
The little monkey lifted her head.
She looked surprised.
Mommy carefully checked her over, making sure she was breathing normally and looking for any signs of injury. Fortunately, there was no obvious serious injury, but Luna was clearly startled by her little tumble.
“Oh, naughty girl,” Mommy whispered. “You scared Mommy!”
Luna looked at her with wide eyes.
Then she began making a tiny unhappy sound.
“Eee… eee…”
Mommy gently comforted her.
“It’s okay. You’re safe.”
She didn’t force Luna to drink immediately. Instead, she gave her time to calm down and made sure she was comfortable.
Luna stayed close to Mommy, suddenly much less interested in running away.
Mommy smiled.
“Are you finished with your adventure now?”
Luna looked toward the bottle.
Then she looked at Mommy.
This time, she didn’t run.
Mommy gently reassured her and followed the appropriate feeding guidance for her age and species. She allowed Luna to settle before offering the feeding again.
Luna eventually became interested.
Mommy smiled.
“Ah! So now you’re ready?”
Luna quietly accepted the feeding.
The dramatic escape was over.
Afterward, Mommy kept Luna warm and comfortable and continued watching her because of the earlier fall. She knew that if Luna later showed unusual sleepiness, repeated vomiting, difficulty walking, breathing problems, swelling, bleeding, or other concerning signs, she would need prompt veterinary attention.
For now, Luna seemed comfortable.
She curled up beside Mommy and gave a tiny sleepy sound.
Mommy gently stroked her head.
“You certainly gave Mommy a fright today.”
Luna closed her eyes.
A few minutes earlier, she had been a determined little troublemaker running away from her milk.
Now she was peacefully resting beside Mommy.
Mommy smiled and whispered, “Next time, little Luna, let’s skip the running part.”
Luna gave one tiny squeak.
Perhaps she agreed.
Or perhaps she was already planning her next adventure.
