The morning had barely begun when little Cola woke up with a very important thought on his mind.
Milk.
The tiny baby monkey opened his eyes, looked around his cozy resting place, and immediately began searching for Mommy. His little tummy was empty, and he seemed to believe that everyone in the house should know about it.
“Eeeee! Eeeee! EEEEE!”
Cola’s first cry was loud.
His second was even louder.
Soon, the entire room seemed to be filled with the tiny monkey’s desperate morning complaints.
Mommy quickly came over.
“Oh, Cola! Good morning, sweetheart. Are you very hungry?”
Cola looked directly at her and stretched both tiny hands forward.
“Eeee! Eeee!”
Mommy smiled.
“I know. You’re telling me very clearly.”
Cola continued crying while watching Mommy prepare his morning feeding. His little body wiggled impatiently, and his eyes followed every movement.
When Mommy picked up the bottle, Cola became even more excited.
He reached toward it immediately.
“Milk! Milk!”
His cries sounded almost like he was calling for breakfast as loudly as possible.
Mommy gently reassured him.
“Your milk is coming, little one. Just wait a moment.”
But waiting was apparently the hardest thing in the world.
Cola cried again.
“EEEEEE!”
Mommy chuckled softly.
“You woke up hungry today!”
She prepared the feeding appropriate for Cola’s age and species, following the guidance used for his care. Because very young monkeys have specialized nutritional needs, Mommy made sure the feeding was prepared safely and did not simply give him more than was appropriate because he was crying.
Cola didn’t understand the preparation process.
He only knew that Mommy had a bottle.
And he wanted it immediately.
He reached toward her with both hands.
“Almost ready,” Mommy whispered.
Cola made another tiny complaint.
Then finally, the feeding was ready.
Mommy checked that it was prepared correctly and at a suitable temperature before offering it to him.
The transformation was incredible.
The screaming stopped almost instantly.
Cola settled down and began drinking calmly.
Mommy smiled.
“Oh, my goodness. Where did all that noise go?”
Cola didn’t answer.
He was far too busy enjoying his breakfast.
His tiny hands rested against the bottle while he drank, and his eyes slowly became more relaxed. The frantic little baby from a few minutes earlier was suddenly peaceful.
Mommy gently watched him.
“Take your time, sweetheart.”
Cola continued feeding calmly.
Afterward, Mommy kept him warm and comfortable and allowed him to rest. She watched him carefully to make sure he remained settled and comfortable.
Cola looked completely different now.
His little face was relaxed, and his earlier cries had disappeared.
Mommy gently stroked his head.
“You were so hungry this morning, weren’t you?”
Cola gave a tiny sleepy sound.
Then he tucked himself against the soft bedding.
Mommy smiled.
“Next time, you don’t have to wake up the whole house.”
Cola slowly closed his eyes.
Of course, Mommy knew that another hungry morning would probably come soon.
But for now, the little monkey had everything he needed: a safe resting place, gentle care, and an appropriate morning feeding.
His loud cries had finally become quiet.
And within minutes, Cola was peacefully drifting back toward sleep, his little tummy satisfied and his morning hunger forgotten.
